Line spools effortlessly off the reel I'm using for pitching, and while I haven't caught anything over five pounds, it's obvious that the drag does it's job effortlessly. One reel is working full-time on a 6'8" Zell Rowland medium action popper rod and one reel is silky-smooth on a 7'3" Heavy Pitchin' Stick.
